Structure Builder

The Structure Builder, located in the Polyline Set Tools button group of the prepare > Post-Processing Tools strip, can be used to clean up intersections between polyline sets and tri-meshes. You can use the Structure Builder to inspect the intersections between the surfaces and to clean up the complete structure and make it watertight. For this, the Structure Builder provides different tools that can be used sequentially or iteratively based on the complexity of the model:

• Retract  allows you to determine where polyline sets and tri-meshes overlap in their model and retract them.

• Extend  extends polyline sets in upward or downward direction.
• Cut cuts open any intersections that still remain after retraction. For each intersection, you can select which tri-mesh should be cut
• Close closes the gaps by extending all the tri-meshes back to the correct intersection point, leaving the structural model with a watertight framework.

The workflow has been designed in such a way that the structural problems are solved step-by-step to maintain an overall overview of the structural framework and status of the model.
